Five Friday Favourites: Bye Bye under eye bags, hello autumn winter shoulder bags!

posted on: Friday, 22 September 2017

Happy first day of autumn one and all! Can someone please take a minute and tell me how 2017 is already mostly over?! Doesn't it seem like we were just celebrating Easter? There's no stopping time, and let me be the first to tell you young ones that as you age, time just goes faster and faster. But, the Friday Five is not about lamenting the speeding up of time, it's about celebrating the good things that make every second even more spectacular, and this week we've got some serious goodies to celebrate. We're looking at everything from the best under eye concealer that the world has ever seen to a shirt that will make you dream of Parisian strolls! Enjoy!

If you buy only one thing for your beauty bag this season, this is it, ladies. I have never written about IT Cosmetics before, but I have seen them absolutely everywhere. I'm not usually one to believe the hype, so I reserved judgement (and my money for some time). Then, I finally gave into the IT Cosmetics trend. For those of you unfamiliar with the brand, let me start by telling you that this is a line that was developed by plastic surgeons and dermatologists. That already should have you sitting a little taller in your chair. But, the proof is in the pudding. The one product that will change your entire view on switching beauty lines will be IT Cosmetics' Bye Bye Under eye Concealer. I'm going to put my butt on the line here and tell you that this is the best under eye concealer that money can buy. It lasts THE WHOLE DAY (I've never had a concealer that has done this) and it gives full coverage, aka the illusion of a full night's sleep. This is not the first time you will see me mentioning this brand, but this is the item that I believe is the true game changer when it comes to something every single woman needs to own. Just putting that out there.

Now, on the level of comfort for fall, I offer you the slippers I'll be wearing nonstop as the cold weather sets in. Sheepers is an adorable sheepskin slipper company based in the UK that is offering the most beautiful embroidered slippers for autumn. This is as close as it gets to walking on clouds. Again, this won't be the last time you see these beauties. I expect many a night where they'll be up in front of a fire of the next few months as winter arrives. Oh, and I must mention that these are also the best value. Starting at £25 for women, I think you'll find yourself in love with not only the idea of a pair for yourself but for the rest of the family as well (Christmas is coming).

Hello, bag of the season! This is the Polo Ralph Lauren Lennox Bag. It also just happens to be the perfect sized cross body or shoulder bag that you need in your wardrobe this season.  And yes, it is that buttery soft leather we've all come to know and love from the brand. If brown is your colour of choice, they have a variety of colours and combos, including a rather fetching zebra print number.

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen my love affair grow over the years for a brand called Empire State Finery. Their necklaces are investments in true statement pieces that will attract the eye of every fashionable creature around you. Every time I step out in one of their items, I am stopped at least a dozen times by random people needing more info on where to purchase. I guess that's when you know you've hit a good thing. This is, however, my first time wearing their earrings. And the apple doesn't fall from the necklace tree. Just as many people are going ga-ga for the earrings, myself included. These are works of art. Get involved.
Last, but certainly not least, is a little ditty I discovered yesterday on my way home. An embroidered breton striped turtleneck. What is not to love about this situation? This is the shirt of dreams... well Parisian dreams at least. It's $45 and it needs to be in the closets of many, so I'm sharing. I feel ok doing so now that I have my own purchased. No chance of my size selling out now. Go... purchase!
