The best blow dry in London and it’s in your own house

I’ve been talking a lot about mobile beauty lately – the idea of you getting “beautified” in the comfort of your own home. It’s all the rage. In fact, the more I talk to women in London, the more I find out that the modern day salon and spa may soon be set for extinction. Hair stylists and spa specialists are breaking out on their own and taking their business straight to the client and the client’s house. Massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and even eyelash extensions can all be done in the comfort of your living room. Heck, you can get glam wearing your favourite My Little Pony pajamas, should the idea move you.

One thing I thought would take a while to break the mobile mold was hairdressing. The tricks of the trade aren’t easy to lug around and it has been my experience that experts in the hair industry love a space they can call their own, in a salon. Well, that whole theory has just been blown out of the water for me. All it took was one visit from Mathieu Clabaux, who not only gave me a cut I absolutely adore, he also followed the cut with a blow dry to kill all other blow dries.

Now, ladies I will warn you that Mathieu Clabaux is devastatingly handsome, so if you have the jealous hubbie, warn him in advance that this hunk of man is only in your home to do your hair.

Mathieu instantly makes you feel at ease. The only thing he requires while in residence is a place for you to sit with a plug nearby for the hairdryer and other tools he may be required to use in order to give you the perfect hair. Yes, it is perfect hair. Mathieu took one look at me and asked if I wanted a trim. If you had seen my ends, you’d understand I’d been holding onto this hair for a while. Mathieu somehow instantly made me believe a cut was a good idea. And by golly, was it ever. Mr. Clabaux, you are a genius.

In short, I’m trying to tell you that you need Mathieu in your life. I’m not saying he’ll have time for everyone, but I know he will sure try to make the time. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a harder working individual. The man is constantly between London, Los Angeles and Paris, servicing clients’ (many whom he would not name – he is fabulously secretive) hair needs. Check him out and tell him FFG sent you. Maybe you’ll get some preferential treatment 😉
