You know a social media platform has touched the heart of fashion when even the CFDA is recognizing it with an actual award. Fashion Instagrammers now have a new reason to try and try again when it comes to their visual shares on the platform – you can actually win something by being “picture perfect.”
So here’s the skinny…
The CFDA have announced eight nominees for the first “Fashion Instagrammer of the Year” award, all selected by a CFDA committee, which just so happens to include the fabulous Rachel Zoe (a super-grammer herself). We have @donalddrawbertson, @dapperlou, @aguynamedpatrick, @paridust, @troprouge, @amy_stone, @hokaytokay and @bessnyc4 in the running. Check em out as voting is open to the public. Now onto the bigger question – what happens when you win the Fashion Instagrammer of the Year award from the CFDA? Well, sadly they’ll be no speech to prepare as you won’t be walking onto the stage in front of the who’s who in fashion to accept a gigantic trophy. No, instead you’ll be given the task of taking over the CFDA Instagram account for the evening. In all honesty, that’s a pretty big award in itself, being able to hobnob with the movers and shakers in this style world.
