FFG wears: A Denim Jacket with a bit of flare

posted on: Tuesday, 20 May 2014

I think it may be my country roots that has made me a collector of denim jackets. It just seems I have a weakness for them, especially in my later years. The hunt for the perfect denim jacket began by buying old worn out denim from charity shops in the USA. As of late, it's developed into a search for the unusual and unexpected. I have the basic denim jacket covered. Now, I want something a little different. Naturally, this is where this little ditty comes in.

A few years ago I was introduced to the brand 2nd Day. This is the younger sister brand to Day Birger Et Mikkelsen, a Scandanavian brand that the fashion world can't seem to get enough of at the moment. If you aren't familiar with this family of designers, may I suggest you check them out immediately? Anyway, I'm getting off topic here.

Basically, 2nd Day have released a denim jacket for SS14 that I'm over the moon about (and also a little too big for at the moment... excuse the pictures... will be fitting into it properly soon... it's been a tough month). The 2nd Day Gertie Denim Jacket with Printed Shoulders is £130 and worth every penny for the subtle statement it contains. Pair with double denim, leather trousers, a chic pencil skirt or just about anything else and Bob's your uncle.
