In Dubai for the weekend... any suggestions?

posted on: Thursday, 20 March 2014

Alright, readers, I need your help!

I am very pleased to announce that I am a judge in this year's Grazia Style Awards in Dubai. I'm flying out on Saturday night and I'm spending three days enjoying the delights of the city before stepping up to the plate to fulfill my duties as a judge for Grazia Middle East. After looking at all the amazing people and boutiques nominated on the list, I am absolutely overwhelmed by the talent in this region and I can't wait to jump right into the thick of it all.

Now, here's where you come in. I need some advice. I need your expertise. I want to know where you, dear reader, would like for me to go. I'll be sharing all pictures on Instagram as they happen and giving a daily report on what's happening in and around the awards while I'm in town. So your wish is my command. I do have a few requests however - restaurant suggestions, beaches to enjoy and where to get the best jewelry and kaftans for sunning in style!

So any help you can offer is greatly appreciated (Use the comments section below!). I can't wait to share the whole adventure with you! It will be so nice to be back in Dubai... oh I can feel the heat calling now.

{PS. I know now that only tourists ride camels in Dubai... so won't be doing that again. I'm in it to look like a local... help a girl out ;)}

  1. You're going to my future hometown! I'm no expert (yet...;-) but want to recommend the local La Petite Maison and Zuma for dinner. They're as good as in London, at least, and have a great atmosphere for a good night out. Daytime I would choose to hang out at one of the hotels at the Palm. Lovely views!

    1. Thank you Minna! Great suggestions! x

  2. Welcome back to dubai Emily!
I am glad you are interested in experiencing Dubai as a local, you'll love it ;)
    So lets start with restaurants:
    La Petite Maison.
Qbara, fusion Middle Eastern food. Its the new hotspot!
    Pai Thai in Madinat Jumeira.
Pierchic, Madinat Jumeirah. Stunning view & great food!

One & Only the Palm hotel, best beach! or for an outdoors afternoon tea. Their Spa is great too.
Talise Spa at Madinat Jumeira, stunning!
Zabeel Saray for Shisha on the terrace.
    Nasimi beach lounge, Atlantis.

For shopping, Boutique1 at JBR, Sauce at Dubai Mall, Symphony at Dubai Mall.
All those boutiques are owned by locals.

    Enjoy! xx

    1. WOW! Thank you, Anonymous! These are great suggestions! x
