What I wore: Day One London Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2014

posted on: Saturday, 15 February 2014

So it's day one at London Fashion Week and I now have a bee in my bonnet about sharing some pretty amazing stuff I'm wearing while out and about this week. Don't usually do such a thing, but I thought I'd give it a go and see what you all think. For day one I made a colossal mistake in getting a little too excited about a new addition to the wardrobe, without considering the weather. It rained cats and dogs in London today and the wind was so strong it was sending rain up skirts, down backs of jackets and straight into boots. Who knew such a think could happen, but it did and I was soaked for most of the day. All I can say is thank goodness for the partnership with Mercedes-Benz and a fantastic driver, or I would have looked like a drowned rat from start to finish.

Anyway, more about this colossal mistake. Well, I had this Day Go jacket from Day Birger & Mikkelsen and I got the idea that I'd love to tie it at the waist and wear it as a dress of sorts. I pulled on some leggings this morning and tied on the trench coat and fell in love with the whole idea. The Stuart Weitzman 50 50 boots  completed the ensemble and my Aspinal Marylebone Tech Tote (more on that later) tied it all together. Oh and then the Baublebar necklace jazzed it all up a bit. I was one happy and casual lady for my first, and hopefully relaxing, day at fashion week. Then I stepped outside.

For the love of all things fashionable, was it cold outside, and rainy, and windy, and generally miserable. But I was determined to wear this latest love, without an overcoat. The Day Go was on my mind and on my body at that moment and I was rolling with it. I'm happy to say I made it through the day, without frostbite, and I'm sitting here in sweats and a cashmere hoodie as I write this. Thinking that may be my ensemble for tomorrow!

Oh and I should also mention that hair you see up above is done by the fabulous Hershesons. Oh yeah, I'm spreading the love. Nobody does a wavy gravy like these guys!
