One for the awkward teenagers (and grownups actually) out there.... my journey to discovering beauty

A few months ago, Space NK asked me if I'd like to be a part of a very special project. They were putting together a beauty council consisting of 20 individuals who come from all walks of life. Famous chefs, models, designers and more were all on the list to participate. I found I couldn't say no. So what was involved? Well, it was simple really. Space NK were asking me to interpret my definition of beauty. While many made videos, created amazing works of art or interviewed individuals to fulfill their contributions, I decided to write a piece on my own journey of discovery with beauty. I am, after all, a blogger. I write everyday and it seemed fitting to keep things natural.

For two weeks I stared at a blank word document. I had no idea what to write. I kept getting calls asking me what my idea was and when I thought I'd have it. I think everyone was getting a bit panicked that I wouldn't have anything ready. To be honest, I was panicking about having something ready.

Then one night, after having a very bad hair day, I sat down in front of my computer and found that the words were flowing swiftly onto the page. By the time I'd finished, I felt as if I had done more than write an essay for Space NK, I'd also discovered something about myself that I hadn't really addressed yet in life.

Anyway, I won't go too much into it as I'd love for you to head over to the Space NK website and read it for yourself. In quite a geeky way, I am very proud of this little ditty. I do hope you will enjoy every word. Do take the time to check out the other contributions. It's such an incredible group that Space NK have managed to put together and I'm so honored to have been asked to participate.
