Barneys are taking quite a severe left turn for their Christmas Collaboration for 2013, if you consider their Christmas collaboration last year was with Disney. For the forthcoming holiday season, Barneys New York and Jay-Z are making magic happen for Christmas. That’s right, the two are collaborating on what they are calling “A New York Holiday.”
This is certainly not Barneys first step into Holiday with a musician. If you step back in time, you may recall a rather incredible collaboration with Lady Gaga in 2011 that quite honestly transformed the whole vibe of Barneys New York.
So what to expect? Well first of all, their will be the usual collaborations with the artist. Stocked in the store called BNY SCC (Barneys New York and Shawn Corey Carter) Gallery, there will be several designers contributing their talents to the Jay-Z takeover. As you might expect, most of the items are designed for male buyers. The objects range from home to fashion, everything from a t-shirt for $70 to a Hublot watch by Shawn Carter selling for $33,900, with 25% of all proceeds going to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.
Look for the collection and windows to be launched on November 20th on Madison Avenue!
