Over the past few weeks several rumours have spread about who would be named the new Creative Director of Coach, after the news of Reed Krakoff‘s departure. The latest name thrown in the hat was Mulberry’s Emma Hill. Funnily enough, the new Creative Director at Coach is not in fact Emma Hill, but he does have a history with Mulberry.

It’s time we lay all rumours to rest as we have official news that the new Creative Director is Loewe’s former Creative Director Stuart Vevers. While Vevers most recent employer was Loewe, he has also worked as Creative Director for Mulberry and has a CV that includes massive labels such as Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy. Let’s just say he has a mighty fine pedigree and is well up for the job at hand.

So what to expect? Well, one can’t really predict what we’ll find with Stuart Vevers’ first collection for Coach. Here’s hoping he spends some serious time in the Coach archive before moving forward. There’s a history here that is worthy of recognition and great consideration. Good luck, Vevers!
