Holmes & Yang only invited “real journalists” to their presentation for New York Fashion Week

So here we all went into New York Fashion Week thinking that Holmes & Yang weren’t showing. They certainly weren’t on the schedule and there was no indication of a presentation. There were a few tears shed somewhere and then we all went on our merry way. But as fate would have it, there was a presentation of the new collection and it was held yesterday for a select few journalists.

Now, for those of you not invited to attend the presentation you may find yourself a little upset at Yang’s explanation for the small group of editors present. The New York Times’ Eric Wilson was invited and wrote a review of what he saw for this morning’s paper. He spoke to the duo and Yang explained,

“We wanted to meet with a group of real journalists,” Ms. Yang said. “You approach fashion with a cerebral voice.”

Hmmmmm, so we’re sure the world would like to see a list of who is considered a “real journalist” these days.  Looking past this little snafu, it seems Mr. Wilson did enjoy what he saw for AW13 with Holmes & Yang. However, I’d say it seems as if he might have enjoyed their muffin display more, judging by the write up.
