The Perfect Dress for a Weekend in The Hamptons

I don't make it a regular habit of approaching women and asking them where they bought this or that, but when something really grabs me I have to know. Such was the case today as I saw the most elegant woman wearing a gorgeous nautical maxi. It was navy blue and white striped and went all the way to the floor, yet had a cut out back and sides showcases a sexy yet sophisticated style.

 

So I stopped her and asked, because really I had to. Her reply couldn't have been better. I tapped her on the shoulder and said, "Excuse me can you tell me where I can find that gorgeous dress." She replied in an American accent, "Hey, nice to see another American over here! Funny you should ask about this dress as I was just telling my lunch date that it's my must-pack for the Hamptons this summer. Not sure it works so well on the streets of London though with this awkward weather..." She carried on for a few more sentences but I did manage to get it out of her that the dress was by Rachel Polly, it was available at Shopbop and there are about a dozen other colours to choose from.

I'm not sure I'm in the shape to show off a fully exposed back but I'm buying and pairing with a cardigan until the back is nicely tan and ready to go on display!
