For the first time ever, Neiman Marcus and Target have come together in a partnership that will certainly shake up the fashion world this Christmas. The duo have selected 24 CFDA designers to put together a holiday collection that will be sold in ALL Target and Neiman Marcus stores. That will mean nearly 1,800 stores in the United States of America will have access to this collection, not to mention online!
Now hold on to your hats as I spell out the list of designers that are participating...
Alice + Olivia, Altuzarra, Band of Outsiders, Brian Atwood, Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg, Eddie Borgo, Jason Wu, Judith Leiber, Lela Rose, Marchesa, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Philip Crangi, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, Rag & Bone, Robert Rodriguez, Rodarte, Skaist-Taylor, Thom Browne, Tory Burch and Tracy Reese.
Anyone else struggling for breath right now? What an amazing collection of talent.
Now on to the pricing. The collection will range from as low as $7.99, for what we are assuming will be accessories, to $499.99, perhaps for a Marchesa dress? Each designer has created one to three pieces for the collection that will span from clothing to sporting goods and everything in between. Seriously squealing around the office at this point!
Commenting on the collection, Target's Executive VP of Merchandising Kathee Tesija said, “We gave the designers a lot of latitude. The collection will have far-reaching appeal. It will resonate with consumers who shop with Neiman Marcus or Target or both. It will be a diverse mix of exceptionally designed product at great values. Some of the designers chose to create things in their wheelhouse — what they do everyday. And some really wanted to do different things.”
Mark your calendars now for December 1st 2012. This is going to be massive and trust me when I say that every other collaboration hype is just child's play compared to what we are about to encounter!
