An event to remember in Milan, with t-shirts to keep forever...

A remarkable night for a remarkable charity! Last night in Milan, designers, celebrities and editors mixed and mingled in support of a special collaboration between six talented Italian designers, Harper's Bazaar and Browns...all in aid of Women for Women International. Read more about the cause and what you can do to help here.

Over 150 people attended the soiree, launching six seriously glamourous t-shirts. In fact, these t-shirts were so glam that by the close of the event they had all nearly sold out! Guests were treated to lovely canapes, Moet champagne and an eyeful of Margherita Missoni who was having quite the giggle with her plastic pigeon (for those of you on twitter...yes, this is the famous pigeon we see on a regular basis in Margherita's tweets).

Here's a quick look at a few snapshots from the event. Don't forget...just because you weren't there doesn't mean you can't grab one of these shirts for yourself (more info)!

Nicole Kidman wore Christian Dior last night to the Academy Awards...brave soul!

We are used to seeing Christian Dior all over the red carpets but last night, as celeb after celeb marched into the Academy Awards, there was not a dress in sight with the Dior label sewn in the back.  That was until Nicole Kidman took to the red carpet.  Kidman braved the current John Galliano anti-Semitic comments controversary and stepped out in one of his latest designs.  Not only did she get knocked for wearing the designer, on twitter and by several news sources, she was also accused of wearing a "fancy dinner napkin".  So it seems it didn't matter who the designer was, the general public wasn't thrilled with the frock in the first place.

However, after The Huffington Post released their video of John Galliano saying "I Love Hitler" this morning... I do wonder if Nicole Kidman's PR lady isn't readying her resume.

NOTE: We can't find any other celebs photographed wearing Dior so if we're wrong and you did see others...please let us know!

UPDATE: Sharon Stone also wore Christian Dior on the red carpet last night!

Six of Italy's most famed designers create limited edition t-shirts for charity

Breaking News: Harper's Bazaar and Browns have gathered six of Italy's most respected designers (Donatella Versace, Frida Giannini, Veronica Etro, Angela Missoni, Alberta Ferretti and Rossella Jardini) to design six limited edition t-shirts in aid of Women for Women International.

I was introduced to Women for Women International many years ago and have tried my very best to spread the word about this amazing charity which helps women, who have survived wars, rebuild their lives.  So when I heard of the collaboration with Harper's, Browns and Women for Women, I couldn't wait to share. Great fashion for a good cause...sign me up to help!  Keep in mind that I was in on helping before even seeing the t-shirts that were being sold.  Then I took a moment to look at what was being offered and I have to say that buying one of these t-shirts isn't just about helping charity, it's about helping your closet.  They are the definition of chic! See the pictures above of each designer wearing the shirt they have designed.

Donatella Versace, Frida Giannini for Gucci, Veronica Etro, Angela Missoni, Alberta Ferretti and Rossella Jardini at Moschino have all designed a t-shirt specifically for the campaign.  These are six of the most powerful names in fashion.  It doesn't get much bigger than this! At only £39 a t-shirt, this really is a campaign I hope you will all participate in. The t-shirts have just recently been officially launched in Milan (party post to come)...But you can buy the t-shirts here now: www.brownsfashion.com

Thank you to Harper's Bazaar and Browns for your support of such an incredibly charity. Readers...please spread the word about this amazing campaign.
