Just when you think the whole world’s gone crazy for colour this Autumn Winter, you have a show that brings you right back down where winter belongs…in darkness. This we owe to Julien Macdonald, whose show is one which, although dark and desolate, is imaginative and inventive in a way that says, “screw you colour! Who needs you anyway?” Although don’t get too upset, Macdonald did show a bit of the rainbow in his evening wear, albeit muted to be easy on the eye.
