Olivia Palermo is barely recognizable in the new Mango campaign. Palermo is photographed for the brand with her German boyfriend Johannes Huebl. Good looking couple! I do like the campaign I just feel that the pictures don't really take advantage of Olivia's beauty. Her smile really is one of her best features. It's not seen anywhere on these pages. It's all serious and has sort of a Morticia Addams goth feel to it.

Fashion Blogger, Tavi, now a filmmaker?
'Le Viol de la Méduse' by Alia Raza (Six Scents: Series Three) from Six Scents Parfums on Vimeo.
This campaign video, Le Viol de la Meduse, is just too weird for words. The short film stars Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and is part of the Six Scents by Givaudan Campaign. Six designers (Alexis Mabille, Mary Katrantzou, Junn.J, N.Hoolywood, Ohne Titel and Rad Hourani) were tapped to make scents with Givaudan perfumers and six films were produced to promote the scents. The film we see here has a very interesting line up of players. Tavi Gevinson wrote the screenplay, Julia (as you can already see) starred in the film and Derek Blasberg was the executive producer. Honestly, it can't get much stranger.

Alexander McQueen sued by Hells Angels
Alexander McQueen is currently in a bit of a legal battle with the biggest badasses in town, Hells Angels. Totally random, right? Well, maybe not so random. Ever seen a Hells Angels jacket?
The Hells Angels Corporation is claiming that the McQueen Hell's Knuckle Duster Ring, along with several other items of McQueen clothing and accessories, are all copies of the logo that belongs to the famous motorcycle gang.

It seems most online retailers have quickly removed the items from their site claiming they are "no longer available." Smart move...
Meredith Vieira is Lady Gaga for Halloween...it's uncanny!
This morning, on the Today Show in New York, the anchors got into the spirit of Halloween and dressed up in random characters for the show. Meredith Vieira was the clear winner of the day! She came in costume as Lady Gaga and the resemblance is absolutely amazing! And may I just say that Meredith has an amazing pair of legs! My goodness!

LeAnn Rimes Shape cover controversy
Oh how the mighty have fallen. LeAnn Rimes appeared on the cover of October's Shape magazine and apparently it has caused quite the problem for Shape. Most people are familiar with LeAnn these days not because of her amazing vocals but more because of her amazing talent to play "steal the husband" with Eddie Cibrian. Yes, LeAnn is a homewrecker and there is nothing that women in America hate more. So when she appeared on the cover of Shape's October issue readers were livid. Several letters were written to the editor expressing great anger and dismay at the fact that the magazine was celebrating a woman of such low character. It was reported that Valerie Latona, Shape's Editor in Chief, addressed the problem but contacting those who complained with the following email:
Subject: To my dear Shape readers
You are all in good company (why I’m e-mailing you all together) as you all agree Shape has made a terrible mistake in putting LeAnn Rimes on the cover.
Please know that our putting her on the cover was not meant to put a husband-stealer on a pedestal-but to show (through her story) how we all are human. And this woman in particular found strength in exercise in what she said was her most difficult personal moment.
But it did not come across that way … And for that I’m terribly sorry.
I hope that we can do better the next time for those of you that will give us another chance.
Humbly,
Valerie
My comments have been taken out of context. I used the words of the few unhappy readers who wrote in.
I stand by the fact that LeAnn’s story is compelling–and her courage and strength in the face of so much adversity is compelling. That is why I put her on the cover of Shape for what is now the third time.
The fact is a mere 40 readers out of almost 6 million readers wrote in to complain calling LeAnn a “husband stealer” and a “terrible mistake for Shape”. I wrote to those women apologizing that our cover choice did not make them happy—as I have done for other cover stars in the past.
All very interesting...people sure are having a big problem with the "foot in mouth" scenario this week.
Amber Le Bon is the face of Forever 21 UK
You've all heard the news. Forever 21 is setting up shop in the UK and taking on the sacred British High Street. Who knows how they'll do against the big guns. I can say that I know a lot of Brits that love shopping at Forever 21 when they're in the USA so perhaps it's a match made in heaven. Only time will tell. They have, however, taken a smart step forward in hiring a British beauty icon as their official spokesmodel. It was announced that Amber Le Bon will be representing Forever 21 in the UK.

Cindy Crawford for Vogue India October 2010
Cindy Crawford continues to prove thatbeauty has no age limit. Now in her forties, Cindy sometimes appears more beautiful than her glory days in her twenties. Now granted a lot has changed in technology since these models were in editorials in the 1990s but you still have to have an amazing package to work with. Cindy has it all and it's certainly all on show here for Vogue India.

Oprah Winfrey wears Victoria Beckham
Oprah Winfrey wearing Victoria Beckham's Collection...I never thought I would see the day! This is just amazing. She looks absolutely stunning and is glowing in the limelight in this ensemble. Oprah took the stage at Maria Shriver's Women's Conference taking place this week in Longbeach, California. The entire week has been rich with photos of well dressed woman but this one takes the cake.

Marisa Miller talks to Fashion Foie Gras about the NFL, keeping fit and more
Yesterday we had the opportunity to interview Marisa Miller, the woman who's been dubbed "America's Supermodel." She has had an amazing career and her portfolio only continues to grow day after day. Miller was discovered by Mario Testino and went straight into Vogue (our bible, of course). Since then Marisa's career has literally exploded. She is a Victoria's Secret Angel, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model (appeared on the cover in 2008) and is currently the official spokesmodel for the NFL, Captain's Morgan's and Harley Davidson. She is in London this weekend for the NFL 49ers vs. Broncos game this Sunday. Fashion Foie Gras was invited along to talk to Marisa about her involvement with the NFL and ask any questions we may have for the Supermodel about her career, fitness, etc. Last week we asked readers to submit questions and yesterday we had them all answered for you.
This was our first camera interview and I have to tell you we went in there feeling a bit like amateur hour. When we arrived Marisa was in an interview with a men's magazine. We were not kept waiting long at all, and after meeting Marisa I can see this is done on purpose as she is not a diva that likes to make others wait (we won't name names of those who are). As the men's magazine left the room they both looked a bit flustered...I am sure you can understand why. They also left the room with tons of equipment and we came in with our simple Flip HD Camera in hand. That didn't help the nerves! Upon entering the room, Miller bounded out of her chair and greeted us with a firm handshake and a 100 megawatt smile. As a woman you so want to hate someone as beautiful as Marisa Miller. However, upon meeting and chatting with her you can't help but want to be her best friend instead. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this individual. I have yet, in my career as a journalist, to meet anyone that was more enchanting and just generally delightful.
A big thank you to Marisa Miller, her whole team and the NFL for giving us this wonderful opportunity!
Don't forget to check out posts we've already written about Marisa on Fashion Foie Gras...

Kelly Osbourne painted gold to celebrate new figure
Kelly Osbourne, you look amazing! Kelly, as seen above, is starring in a campaign for the Sky+HD channel in the UK. For the shoot she had to be painted head to toe in gold.
Kelly spoke about the campaign as being a celebration of her new toned body. She does look amazing and looks absolutely incredible in these shots!
You know what, Kelly? I'm going to do the same thing when I am at my goal weight one day...and readers, I'll make this pledge to you. When I'm at the perfect size I'll paint myself gold and walk down the middle of Oxford Street (and hope not to be arrested).
Congrats, Kelly, on the new body and the new campaign. May it all bring you every happiness in the world!

Ralph Lauren's Halloween party for the kids
This looks like so much fun. Makes Fashion Foie Gras sad we have no kids to take along! Maybe we'll borrow a kiddie from a fashion friend for the day so we can take part in the gorgeous festivities! See you there!
Guerlain 's racial slur could cost LVMH dearly
Jean Paul Guerlain made the biggest mistake you can make last week on national television. He used the "N" word to describe his work ethic. In fact, I better just tell you exactly what he said (translated from French to English): "I worked like a n****r. I don't know if n*****s have always worked like that, but anyway."
Excuse, moi? What was that Jean-Paul Guerlain? Surely we must have misunderstood you while you were describing your fragrance? I know you are 73 and everything and grew up in a different time but certainly you recognize that this is not the 1920s!
LVMH, owner of Guerlain, immediately released a statement condemning the words spoken by Guerlain. Unfortunately that wasn't enough for the people of France. Over 100 protesters were stationed outside the Guerlain store in Paris over the weekend demanding a boycott of the Parisian perfume house. Now there are lawsuits by anti-racism groups being announced.
Derek Lam designing for eBay?
Well this is certainly a step in a new direction for designers. Acclaimed designer, Derek Lam, will be the first to design a collection exclusively for eBay. Here's how it's going to work: The ready-to-wear collection will be shown during New York Fashion Week in February. After the show, fashion followers will be able to vote on what they consider to be the best looks. The items with the highest votes will be available to buy on eBay in the Spring. So a collection that we will actually get to buy for the season we're about to enter?! It's genius! However, will the uppercrust of fashion be happy about this turn of events? It snubs their whole system!
We'll have to wait and see!
Target bringing back the best dresses from Designer ranges
It's been five years since Target started "Go International," a project to collaborate with international designers for Target stores in the USA. The first designers were Luella Bartley and Tara Jarmon and they set the bar pretty high for all that would follow. Over the years we have seen collections from Paul & Joe, Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Libertine, Alice Temerley, Erin Fetherston, Jovovich-Hawk, Rogan, Richard Chair, Jonathan Saunders, Thakoon, Tracy Feith, Rodarte, Zac Posen and most recently a collection from Tucker (still in stores).
Yesterday, Target announced they will launch a collection of 34 dresses, two designs from each of the 17 designers who have worked with Target thus far. The series will be called the Designer Collective and will launch in stores on March 13 2011.
Sadly, there will be no further designs at this time from the accessories guest designers which have included Temple St. Clair, Anna Sheffield, Miss Trish of Capri and most recently Mulberry.

Sneak Peek: Scarlett Johannson's Mango Campaign Winter 2011
The Fashion Spot posted two pictures of Scarlett Johannson's Winter 2011 Mango Campaign today. As much as she annoys me as an actress I must admit she takes a mean photograph. The clothes don't look too shabby either. I'll go and take a closer look for you once they are in stores...
Monica Bellucci nude with baby on Vanity Fair Cover November 2010
Monica Bellucci is one of the great beauties of our time. This cover has just cemented that beauty contract for her and her gorgeous little offspring. Vanity Fair Italy November 2010 will surely be a record selling issue.
Breakfast at Shanghai Tang, London
This morning I had the great pleasure of attending breakfast with some of my esteemed blogging colleagues at Shanghai Tang in London. It was my first experience with the brand, but after a successful morning I can safely say it will not be my last. I arrived promptly at 9:30am this morning as the invitation indicated. The shop is located on Sloane Street in London and I stepped out of my cab a block early to peek into the windows of other designer shops along the street. It was early in the morning and the air still had that grubby "Last night in London" Street smell to it. That was until I got within about 20 feet of Shanghai Tang. The aroma was what would have led me into the store regardless of whether I was having breakfast there are not. The sweet smell of Ginger flower was intoxicating. It wasn't overwhelming. Rather it was quite calming and peaceful. I knew I was in the right place.
I was led downstairs to a table that was surrounded with familiar and incredibly influential faces. We had Mademoiselle Robot, Bitchbuzz, The Clothes Whisperer, Alex Loves, Simon G, Styleslicker, Disney Roller Girl and Sketchbook(Osman) all sitting around one long black table covered from top to bottom in yummy food. and much needed coffee. Before we dive into the ins and outs of why you should be checking out Shanghai Tang, I'll just share a few pics to make you drool...and oh I was very bad! I carb loaded like I hadn't seen a carb ever before in life!
Jocelyn, Shanghai Tang's International Marketing Director, was on hand to join us for the breakfast and also walk us through the current and forthcoming season for Shanghai Tang. Jocelyn was absolutely lovely. She is the perfect ambassador for the brand as she oozes admiration and respect for the label. She was actually obsessed with the brand before she ever began working with them! That is truly how all companies should be. Hire the fanatics of the brand to preach the shop gospel!
While we sat and ate I couldn't help but find my eyes wondering around the table. We were surrounded by pieces that were yet to be released for the holiday season. I am praying certain members of my family don't read this piece as i saw at least a dozen potential Christmas gifts around me!
After breakfast we were given an opportunity to explore the store from top to bottom with Jocelyn. As I rounded the corner from the breakfast table I found some chairs that were decorating the store that I wished I could have in my own front room...
Turn another corner and you are confronted with pajamas that are actually quite famous. Now before I get to that I must first say that if you are going to spoil yourself with relaxing indoor wear, look no further than the silk pajamas at Shanghai Tang. They are absolute heaven and everyone knows silk is incredibly sexy! So looking great and being completely comfortable...how often does that happen? Now on to the celebrity gossip. Apparently Kate Moss can't live without her Shanghai Tang jam-jams and Chris Noth (AKA Mr Big) wore a pair in Sex and The City 2. Those are pretty fine references for the pieces!
Moving upstairs I was taken aback by the jackets that were on display. I loved the mix of Chinese and Western design in the pieces. The tailoring was impeccable and the fabrics were top notch. Kristin (The Clothes Whisperer) was trying on jacket after jacket and each one looked like something that was tailor made for her.
I feel in love with all of the knits that were in store. I'm a sucker for cashmere, as you problably already know, and I couldn't stop running my hands over the lovely fabrics and slipping on sweater after sweater. These are sweaters you want to live and die in. Cashmere is the ultimate in luxury and it fits perfectly in the Shanghai Tang portfolio of fabrics.
The store itself was magical with traditional Chinese decoration mixed with an old english feel. Trunks, leather chairs and old cabinets remind you that you are in London but magical lanterns, gorgeous fabrics covered in Chinese symbols and ancient statues transport you to a fair away land.
Many pieces by Shanghai Tang are also easily recognized because of their attention to detail. What struck me over and over again was the gorgeous jade ornamentation. Jocelyn had told us that we would find jade scattered throughout the collection as the Chinese thought that Jade would act as a protective element for them. It is such a simple yet effective touch. It completely transforms a garment. A brown cashmere sweater would look like any other if it were not for the gorgeous draping of fabric centred around the jade element.
Men, don't think I left you out! It is worth a trip to the store to see the fantastic collection they have for the lads! Again, we see a great attention to detail. Just take a look at the jacket captured below. What a fantastic mandarin collar coat with leather detailing!
And finally, I get to talk about my favourite part of the whole visit...the handbags! I seldom meet a handbag I don't like. But I very rarely, these days, meet a handbag I can't live without. I ran into five of those bags today at Shanghai Tang and this will be the reason I am living off ramen noodles for the next two months! The leather was sumptuous, the ornament was perfectly placed and not at all over done and there was not a flaw to be found on one piece.
Each bag was designed in a size that is appropriate for its use. The clutches would fit my blackberry, wallet and compact perfectly. The shoulder bags would carry all that is required for a blogger's function and the satchels had enough bulk to them to carry you through on a day trip to Paris. They are also classics. An investment in a bag by Shanghai Tang is wise. These are not "it" bags that last all of one month. These are bags that never go out of style and will not be seen on every young girl walking down the street. A woman carrying a Shanghai Tang bag is a woman with superior knowledge and taste!
Overall review of Shanghai Tang on Sloane Street: Love Affair! I'll be back but my credit cards won't be happy!
Thank you so much to Shanghai Tang for a wonderful morning.
