And Kelis just keeps throwing easy ones our way...
Honestly...is she just looking for attention? What other reason would you have for leaving your house in a grey mullet with chains coming out of your nose and jeans that make you look fifty pounds heavier than you really are?!

Jacquetta Wheeler for Vogue Russia February 2010
Call me crazy but I just love this look. Of course one can't go out in public with no knickers and a sheer skirt but if I had an ass and legs like that I might just give it a try!

Not really fashion but just couldn't resist sharing...
Oprah just posted this pic on her twitpic account....absolutely gorgeous...someone please do the same for me for a special occasion in the future...hint hint!
On a fashion note...Oprah is a good example to us all. No matter what her weight she always looks happy and comfortable in her clothes.

The change Lara Stone has brought about
She's been called "fat" at a size 4. She's engaged to David Walliams. She's been on endless covers of magazines over the past year. She's taken the modelling world by storm. She is none other than the great Lara Stone. At a size four, she is bigger than your average supermodel today but she is changing the face of fashion because of it. We are coming back to women with curves and I love it! She has hips and breasts. She is built like a woman, not a twelve year old. Just look at the comparison of the two Love covers above. In comparison to Janeil Williams she is a completely different build. These are two magazine covers that the industry should take a close look at. Give us more Lara. We want women we can relate to!

Loving the new ads...Making me already think of what to wear for picnics on the Heath this summer! Spring please hurry and get here!

How many "fashion faux pas"s can you spot in this picture?
I give you this year's biggest fashion victim....KELIS, the human milkshake of fashion disasters.
1. When was it ever cool for anyone other than a winter sports enthusiast to wear a onesie like this?
2. Camel Toe...need I say more?
3. If you are going to sport Alexander McQueen shoes make sure they are the main part of your outfit, not playing second fiddle to what you have going on up top.
4. When someone called you a horse's ass it wasn't a cue to go and buy a hair weave that resembled the tail of a large animal.
5. I can't tell if, with the adornments on your head, you are trying to channel the Statue of Liberty or the Queen of Hell.
6. How many sets of fake lashes are you wearing?
7. Did you run out of fake lashes and felt you needed to draw in the ones you were missing below? It makes no sense?
8. Lipstick that matches the dress...works for some...here it just makes you look sick (and not the "sick" that means good).
9. Seriously what is with the hair? Sorry, I just had to mention it twice. It's all I can look at.
10. This isn't a criticism...it's a suggestion - find a stylist...and if you already have one, take her out back and put her out of her misery.

The great search for World's best bum
That's right...there is actually a model search on for the world's best butt! American Apparel has spread the word far and wide that they are looking for the next big thing to advertise in their campaigns. It's not really clear what they are looking for. They don't specify a certain size, roundness or perkiness and they don't claim it has to be all natural so even you butt lifters can apply!
You can even visit the website now and judge the rear-ends that have already been submitted!
Youtube spills the truth about the beauty industry
This is a brilliant video. I can't tell you if all of it is true...but it is a pretty impressive idea...we should all pay more attention to the products we are using and not only falling victim to great advertising campaigns. Take a minute to watch this. You won't be disappointed:

How much do you want to get rid of your bingo wings?
Have you seen this new infomercial about the Shake-Weight? I have seen some far fetched stuff in my time but this might just take the cake!
Has anyone tried it? If so, what do you think?

J. Crew February 2010
How sad! For those of you that follow my blog you will know that I am a big fan of J. Crew. I have always thought that their basic style was fantastic and an example of classic dressing for women everywhere. I always set aside at least an hour of my time to fully digest the new catalogues when they come out. So I sat down today excited and ready to absorb the J. Crew vibe. Only I wasn't inspired at all. There was nothing new in the catalogue other than the location of the photoshoot. The clothes are all the same....and I already own all of them! J. Crew, I love you. I really do. But it's time to come out with some new clothing. You have offered us nothing new this season. They are all remakes of season's past. I realize your style is classic...but even classic styles are updated as the year's roll on. Atleast throw us a curve ball and change it up every other season. I say this because I WANT to spend money in your stores. If I already own every piece you have created how can I continue to support you when you refuse to offer new goods?
Magazine Blast from the Past Part One
I was just going through my scanning archives and came across a bunch of images that I had kept for inspirational fashion purposes. I thought I would share them with the masses. Enjoy!
Below, my favourite magazine cover of all time:
Baby got back...
Actually, it never went out of style. A woman's bare back is a classic, timeless and sexy look and more women are rocking this than ever! Some dresses show off the legs, the breasts or the thin waist but I will stand by the statment - "Nothing is sexier than a bare back." It's the one look you can pull off at looking 100% sexy without looking at all like a tramp. You are a refined lady with a risky side (or backside) to you.
Kate Hudson was the most recent celebrity to sport the look. It's awards season and anything is possible so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some backless winners this year...
I can't help myself...I just love Tavi!
I only wish that at the tender age of thirteen I was as interested in fashion as Tavi Gevinson is! She is one amazing little girl who has the entire world of fashion wanting a piece of her...including Vogue Paris. Not only that...but another favourite blogger of mine, Jak and Jill photographer Tommy Ton, photographed the whole shoot! Don't you just love it when bloggers unite to take over the fashion universe?!

Jean Paul Gaultier knows the true meaning of Couture
Jean Paul Gaultier reminded us all what we were in Paris for today....a week of Haute Couture...a week for fashion, fantasy and indulgence. His models wore pieces that took us away from reality and into another dimension. We were taken to a land that was a mix of Pirates, Star Wars Princesses, Geishas, Salsa dancers and Tron warriors. All of this in just one fashion show? Yes, that's couture. A show where you can completely forget who you are and get lost in the swaying fabrics on the runway before you. Each piece displayed had, what looked like, weeks of crafting. My first ever couture show, many years ago, left me almost in tears imagining the work that must have gone into creating each garment. I was left with such an immense appreciation for the time and effort that goes into such expensive creations. They were worth the price tag that they were labeled with, that was always a given. Lately at shows I have not felt that was the case. Couture is never meant to feel thrown together and several designers seem to have forgotten that in the past few seasons. Leave it to Jean Paul Gaultier to bring us back to the fantastic world of fashion imagination where the sky is the limit.
Elie Saab
Once again we are given our choice of a selection of red carpet gowns here with the Elie Saab couture show. Stylists will be faced with some difficult decisions in the coming months and I can guarantee that the Elie Saab dresses will be in high demand. There is nothing too shocking about these dresses. They are gorgeous, elegant and tasteful. Anyone faced with walking a line of photographers in one of these dresses will walk tall and proud as the colours are flattering, the structure of the dresses are form fitting and for the most part all of your "goodies" remain covered. Watching the Elie Saab show was like walking through a magical garden. All of the colours were subdued and relaxed and the floral patterns were warm and comforting. I'm sure there will be some fashion critics who will claim that the show was boring as there were no great statements made. Elie is following the nude coloured trend and the artistically crafted folds of fabric resemble those of Donna Karan and Herve Leger on some dresses. But Elie Saab takes the dresses a step further without taking it a step too far. A standing ovation for a wonderful presentation.
Stéphane Rolland Spring 2010 Haute Couture
I am almost at a loss for words. Fantastic, amazing, gorgeous, orgasmic even: there are some words for you. Stéphane Rolland once again proves he is a man with a vision. His vision is beauty and his game is couture.
At least a dozen dresses in the collection presented in Paris yesterday at "Oscar red carpet ready". Fabrics were used in both a structured and free flowing way. There were solid coloured fabrics and solids with the appearance splattered metallics. There were knee length skirt suits and floor length gowns. That being said, each and every look that walked down the runway flowed with the one before it. The entire collection was one that could have only been created by Stéphane.
Once again we see echos of futurism in some of his creations but most of the collection seemed to be classic wears with the futuristic feel rather than a straight forward jump into another time period. All together it was an impressive display of talent.

Spanx release a new swimwear line
Spanx have beecome a celebrity stylist wardrobe staple over the past few years. Hell, I even have three pairs in my closet. They are the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to curving your body into the right shape for a particular dress or outfit. They have the ability to turn you into a smooth diva! So it is with great excitement that I announce Spanx are now making swimwear a less nightmarish experience by releasing a line of their own! Or maybe I should say it was with great excitement until I actually got a chance to check out the line, online. I hate to say this Spanx, but I think you should stick to making items that are meant to be worn out of sight. These bathing suits are not exactly the height of fashion. They look downright old-ladyish! And they cost a fortune!
