Reem Acra extended an invitation to Fashion Foie Gras to attend the London International Horse Show at Olympia 2010

Yesterday I had a bit of an adventure, courtesy of one of my favourite designers.  Reem Acra , one of the lead sponsors of the show, had invited me and a few other fabulous fashion journalists in London to attend the London International Horse Show in Olympia.  Although I work in the fashion industry, I have a long history with an equestrian lifestyle. Back in the day I attended Sweet Briar College, the United States leading equestrian school where the horses outnumber the girls in attendance.  Long before that I was riding at my Grandmother’s estate in New Hampshire. However, I never ventured into the world of dressage and after watching yesterday’s event, I can understand why I would never have the patience to do so.  This was one of the most beautiful displays of talent I have seen in a long while.  It is an amazing and mysterious relationship that man has with horses  But yesterday I witnessed horse whispering at its finest as massive animals dancing across Olympia looking as a light as ballerinas on tip toe.  I cannot thank Reem Acra enough for the opportunity to take part in such a fantastic afternoon and in such a glamourous fashion. We were invited to sit in the President’s Box for the event where champagne was in hand within thirty seconds of arrival and every need was catered for before you knew you even needed anything at all. Here are a few pictures from the event. I’m only sorry I didn’t have time to take more and that I didn’t have a proper camera to capture the magic of these beautiful creatures.
